REGIONAL MOBILISATION SUMMIT 2024
October 16 2024 | The Woolshed @ Emerald Bank, Shepparton
'Bringing together community leaders and skilled individuals for open dialogue and practical experimentation to foster self-sustaining community governance.'
Why are we doing this?
Community organisations in rural areas are essential but often struggle with sustainability and leadership succession, largely due to their reliance on volunteers. While motivated leaders exist, there's a disconnect between their skills and the needs of these organisations. Addressing this gap in community governance is crucial for the resilience and growth of these groups.

What is the purpose of the Summit?
The Regional Mobilisation Summit aims to bring together community leaders and skilled individuals to foster self-sustaining community governance. By focusing on collaboration, practical action, and inclusive dialogue, the summit seeks to empower participants to address local issues, enhance volunteerism, and unite diverse voices in the community.

What are the expected outcomes of the Summit?
The summit aims to inspire collective empowerment, identify practical actions for community benefit, and motivate participants to volunteer their skills. Over the next year, these actions are expected to be implemented and measured, ensuring lasting benefits for the community.

FACED WITH A COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE CHALLENGE?
Are you part of a community organisations currently facing governance challenges? We want to hear from you!

At the Regional Mobilisation Summit, we’re focusing on the real challenges that community organisations face in governance. From succession planning, to finding skilled volunteers, or achieving financial stability, we understand that these challenges are diverse and complex. Rather than reinventing the wheel, our goal is to enhance the efforts of organisations, programs, and initiatives already making a difference in our community.

A select number of community organisations will be chosen by a panel of 2024 Fairley Leadership Program participants to have their respective challenges showcased at the event. Each selected organisation will also receive one free ticket for a representative to participate in the full event.

On the day, attendees will work to diagnose the 'ingredients' needed for change in these areas. Community organisations will also have the opportunity to engage in ongoing impact measurement over the next 12 months, helping track the ripple effects of changes sparked at the event.
